The name Makuti comes from a trip made by Zoppini family in Africa, precisely in Kenya: in the Swahili tradition it is the roof of the houses, made of wood and with a peculiar form.
Manuel Zoppini together with his team of designers, keep on top of the updated trends to generate jewels that go beyond the time. The goal has always been to get inspired by design, natural stones, silver and gold.
Manuel Zoppini was born in 1974 with success in his blood. Style and refinement flow through his veins, together with a remarkable forward looking business sense.
Later in life, Manuel trained as a goldsmith at the ‘Istituto Spinelli’ goldsmith school, where he learned from one of the greatest goldsmiths, Luigi Chilleri.
Conducting enterprising research, Manuel travelled a great deal and learned as much as he could wherever he went, thanks to meetings and wide-ranging cooperations. His natural inspiration was completed and enhanced by his taste for discovery: alternative materials, state of the art production techniques and new, special balances amidst the many sources of inspiration that lead to the creation of a high class jewel.
Most recently, at the end of 2011 he decided to take on a new challenge, starting his own firm, Italian Luxury Group Srl and formed the Makuti brand in line with his creativity. Since then, Italian Luxury Group has and continues to merge style, research and pure artisanal Italian tradition where Manuel Zoppini is undoubtedly a long time expert.
Areas of interest for the Makuti brand collections has been the European marketplace include Germany, Uk and France ideally with chains and direct control. In the Eastern Europe region they are instead targeting distributors in order to better manage local challenges.
USA and Asia, with a special focus on Department stores, are their priorities for the end of 2012 – beginning of 2013, also while searching for the appropriate selection of the most suitable partner in each region.
